Washington, DC – As the Senate returns for the final weeks of the lame-duck session, doctors, nurses, health care providers and professionals will hold a press conference on Tuesday, December 2, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. to send a clear message: confirm Dr. Vivek Murthy as Surgeon General now.

The United States has gone over a year without a Surgeon General. Over 100 medical and public health organizations have endorsed Dr. Vivek Murthy, who was nominated in November 2013 and approved by committee on a bipartisan vote in February 2014. His confirmation has been held up by politics even as the nation faces serious public health challenges.
Doctors and healthcare providers will be on Capitol Hill on Tuesday to meet with Senators and urge them to confirm this exceptionally qualified #TopDocNow.
