I AM A LOOKING TO GO

Manisha Madhusudan

Course Director, Medical Humanities

Manisha is currently a pre-medical student at the University of Houston and is earning a bachelor’s degree in Biology and a minor in Psychology. She hopes to
specialize in neurology and is passionate about advocating for the integration of arts and culture in medicine.

She volunteers with the Center of Performing Arts Medicine at Houston Methodist Hospital and engages in art and writing activities with patients there. This enables
her to see first-hand the transformative impact of the arts in the healthcare experience.

She participated in AMSA’s Premedical Scholars Program where she learned about the public health context of medicine and created patient education material on
Type II Diabetes Remission. She also is part of the Research and Writing team in AMSA’s Wellness and Student Life Action Committee. She also participated in
AMSA’s Emoji Campaign and is currently one of AMSA’s Social Media Coordinators. In her free time, she likes to read, travel, and play volleyball.
