Malia Schram is a third-year medical student at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine who is passionate about family medicine and providing comprehensive sexual health and LGBTQ+ care. They were raised in Eastern Washington state, went to college in Wisconsin, and are proud to call Ohio home for now. They focused their college education on interpersonal violence and victim advocacy. They have done biochemical research, focusing on protein x-ray crystallography and queer community connectivity. In medical school, they became passionate about integrating personal identity and advocacy within the healthcare system and look forward to extending the medical school curriculum to encompass these ideals. When not in the clinic, they can be found foraging for pawpaws, rescuing cats, and playing bassoon in a local queer band.
