Kyla Swain

Kyla is a third year medical student from Downers Grove, IL. She graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelors of Science in Bioengineering and is currently preparing for her clerkship at Trinity School of Medicine. With leadership and collaboration always standing as integral parts of her education, Kyla has served as a tutor to her peers and the treasurer of her local AMSA chapter. She has also found fulfillment volunteering and participating in outreach programs in every community she has called home. Over the past year, Kyla has become increasingly involved in the Reproductive Health Project at ASMA. She plans to use this newfound knowledge and network of experts to start a local chapter of Medical Students for Choice and train to become an abortion provider. She hopes to continue to advocate for reproductive justice throughout her career. In her free time, Kyla enjoys hiking, scuba diving, and practicing the french horn.
