Hey y’all! My name’s Kaleb Branch, and I’m thrilled to serve as your National Pre-Medical Membership Co-Director!
My journey with AMSA began as a bright-eyed, ambitious member of the Emory Chapters’ Reproductive Health Committee. From there, I swiftly rose to lead the chapter for two impactful years as the Chapter President. This experience solidified my ability to expand, diversify, and sustain member initiatives, equipping me to foster success among AMSA chapters nationwide and connect with each and everyone of you to my fullest extent.
Moreover, my work in Arkansas and Atlanta to advance reproductive justice led me to participate as the sole pre-medical student in the 2023 Reproductive Health Institute and attend the transformative Future Physicians for Change Conference in the following summer! These engagements, coupled with my extensive history in local community outreach during my undergraduate years have left me deeply committed to creating positive change at both the grassroots and policy levels. I look forward to using my experiences to support chapters and students in achieving AMSA’s mission, “To educate and empower diverse future physicians to become unapologetic advocates for equitable healthcare and foster generations of culturally respectful leaders.”
If you’re still curious about who I am beyond my AMSA roles…
I graduated from Emory University in Atlanta, GA in Spring 2024 with a B.S. in Anthropology and Human Biology, along with a minor in Global Health, Society, and Culture. Hailing from Jonesboro, Arkansas, I credit my strong interest in community-building to my comically large family– think my grandmother with 16 siblings that grew up working on a farm type of large. I’m currently based in Philadelphia, PA as a Post-baccalaureate Research Scholar at University of Pennsylvania conducting epidemiology research on pediatric HIV care and treatment in local and global contexts! On a more personal note, I’m a proud Taurus, a devoted foodie, and love a good road trip!
