Peoples, a medical student at the University of Medicine and Health Sciences, has a passion for improving services to underserved communities. She holds a B.S. degree and an M.S. degree in Health Education and Behavior, both from the University of Florida.
While in medical school, Peoples served as Student Government President, conducted research analyzing Hepatitis C virus treatment, spearheaded a worksite breast cancer screening for university employees, and participated in a plethora of health fairs. Outside of the classroom, Peoples is a national leader for AMSA, Crisis Counselor, and an executive committee member for the NAACP Miami-Dade Branch. Peoples has a personal goal to bridge the communication gap between patients and providers, introduce cultural sensitivity, and eliminate the disparity between affluent and impoverished neighborhoods.
