The New Physician‘s Editorial Advisory Board members and Student Editor help staff plan strong magazine stories for our readers. The members of the advisory board serve one year terms beginning in May. The Student Editor serves for two years, and is a voting member of AMSA’s Board of Trustees. Meet the current leaders here.

Are you interested in joining The New Physician magazine’s editorial team? The New Physician is looking for four AMSA members* to serve on our Editorial Advisory Board.

The Editorial Advisory Board members work closely with staff and the Student Editor to plan strong magazine stories for our readers and have other opportunities to contribute. If selected, you will be expected to collaborate throughout the year with staff, fellow advisory board members, and the Student Editor.

Magazine or other journalism experience is preferred, but not required. All applicants must commit to:

• Monthly conference call
• Collaborative activities throughout the year
• AMSA’s Building On Foundations leadership training in-person meeting: Exact dates and location TBD, but the training is typically held in May.
• Selected Editorial Advisory Board applicants will serve from August 15, 2021, until April 30, 2022.
