Overview statement:

The International Federation of Medical Students Associations (IFMSA) represents, connects, and engages every day with an inspiring and engaging network of 1.3 million medical students from 139 national member organizations in 130 countries around the globe. IFMSA is guided by its National Member Organizations (NMOs), who, in turn, elect the Team of Officials to lead the work of the Federation throughout the year. AMSA is the United States NMO of the IFMSA.The President of AMSA serves as the US Delegate to IFMSA and actively participates in IFMSA conferences to strengthen international collaboration in healthcare related issues.

IFMSA hosts and oversees the organization of several meetings and workshops in the health fields, economics, law and politics. These events are open to medical students that are members of a NMO.
