I AM A LOOKING TO GO

Sheyla Tendero

Primary Care and Preventative Medicine Coordinator

Hello! My name is Sheyla Tendero, a fourth-year medical student at Ross University School of Medicine, completing my clinical clerkships in South Florida. I am extremely honored to serve as the Primary Care and Preventative Medicine Coordinator at the American Medical Student Association (AMSA).

As an immigrant, I understand firsthand the challenges of growing up without access to healthcare. This experience has fueled my commitment to changing that narrative and has become my life’s mission. My role within AMSA serves as a stepping stone towards my ultimate goal of providing preventative medicine to vulnerable and underserved communities. I firmly believe that prevention is the best cure. Through initiatives like National Primary Care Week, I’m passionate about promoting preventive care and community health advocacy. Together, let’s build a future where healthcare is proactive, accessible, and equitable for all.
