Now It’s Time to Pass Investment in People, Expand Health Care & Lower Rx Prices
Call Congress: Vote Yes on Build Back Better This Week!
On Monday, President Biden will sign into law the Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal, passed by Congress last week. This action delivers on promises to make historic the investments needed to repair our nation’s crumbling infrastructure and make meaningful steps to address many of the social and political determinants that so deeply impact the health of our patients and communities.
This Deal will:
- Replace lead water pipes across the country
- Grow our clean energy supply and reduce airborne pollution
- Clean-up brownfields and superfund sites
- Provide good jobs and build resilience as we face coming climate change
Now, Congress must take swift action to pass the “human infrastructure”
Build Back Better Act – without delay!
Passing The Build Back Better Act (H.R. 5376) is critical! It will help more of our patients live healthier lives, make our communities healthier places to live, and make our lives and work as physicians better and easier. Passing this bill will improve health and health care for millions by:
- Closing the Medicaid coverage gap & adding hearing coverage to Medicare
- Giving Medicare the power to negotiate lower prescription drug prices
- Expanding home care for seniors and people with disabilities, and improving worker pay
- And much, much more
This legislation makes historic steps toward making healthcare more equitable, affordable, and sustainable. The time to pass it is here — our patients, our families, our colleagues, and communities can not, and should not, wait longer.
We are at a crucial point in our advocacy and we must act now. We must lift our voices to ensure Congress votes on this historic package this week.
