Manikya Nagaraja, medical student at Avalon University School of Medicine, Curacao. She is an Indian by origin and was born in the IT capital of India, Bangalore city. She got her Bachelors in Biochemistry from Spartan Health Science University in St Lucia. As a first- and second-year medical student she has worked with other AMSA members in economically challenged neighborhoods on the Island of St Lucia by organizing free medical health clinics, public health awareness walks and blood donation camps.
She is currently working as an Academy chair and is contributing to creating awareness about the medical conditions and addressing higher issues. Her vision as a budding doctor has always been to provide an atmosphere of learning and research and to protect the rights and dignity of patients. Research work always keeps her captivated and she loves to organize and manage events. Her hobbies include- dancing, solving Rubik’s Cube and learning new languages. She loves animals and has successfully been able to rescue six dogs in St Lucia. Her goal wants to revel in work she does and aspires to take up Hematology and Oncology residency in the future.
