Adam&Eve initially started as a small mail-order condom business between physician Paul Mueller and Adam&Eve’s president Phil Harvey while he was a graduate student at University of North Carolina School of Public Health. The business eventually expanded to an international stage with the founding of Population Services International and DKT International which provide family planning and HIV/AIDS prevention services globally; and their product line expanded into what would become Adam&Eve today. Currently, DKT International is still funded in part by over 25% of the profits from Adam&Eve.
